It’s been a long time since the U.S foreign-born population was as large as it is today, percentage-wise, over 100 years ago, in fact.

According to an article, published by the New-York Times, the foreign-born population stood at 13.7 percent in 2017, meaning 44.5 million people. This a rise compared to 2016 when only 13.5% of the population was foreign-born.

The percentage of people from the population born outside the U.S wasn’t this high since 1910, according to data released by the government.
